Bremo Art
Featured Artist Director, Edition Twenty Twenty Six

Amos Le Blanc

Two time Cannes Young Director Award Gold winner. Saatchi and Saatchi New Directors Showcase. A24 feature in development. Filmmaker of the long take and the patient frame.

Bremo Art, Featured Director, May Twenty Twenty Six

Amos Le Blanc is a Canadian director whose work moves between feature film, music video, branded film, and the slow craft of arts and crafts documentary. He has won the Cannes Young Director Award Gold twice, was named MMVA Director of the Year, and was selected for the Saatchi and Saatchi New Directors Showcase. His debut feature, Neverenders, is in development with A24, with Timothee Chalamet and Marion Cotillard attached.

Le Blanc directs from a place of restraint. The camera holds, the actor breathes, the cut waits until the moment is already gone. It is a sensibility shaped by Canadian winter light, by the patience of independent labels like Arts and Crafts, and by the discipline of music video, a form that demands a director see a song before they shoot it.

His recent catalogue includes the Warner Music three part series EXOTIC QUIXOTIC PRACTICE, Tim Baker Eighteenth Hole released through Arts and Crafts Productions, and Valentina Ploy Camera Roll through his own banner, dream inc. Each project leans into a different language. Warner gave him scale, Arts and Crafts gave him intimacy, dream inc. gave him the freedom to write the frame himself.

A film holds its breath, then lets it out. That is direction.

Selected Filmography

The Cannes Recognition

Le Blanc holds two Cannes Young Director Award Gold trophies. The YDA is the only Cannes Lions sanctioned competition open exclusively to emerging directors. Past winners have included filmmakers who went on to direct features for A24, Neon, and Annapurna. Two golds places Le Blanc in a small group of repeat winners, the kind of catalogue that production company rosters in London, Paris, New York, and Los Angeles tend to circle hard.

Saatchi New Directors Showcase

The Saatchi and Saatchi New Directors Showcase at the Cannes Lions Festival is, by most measures, the single most important director showcase in the global advertising industry. Selection signals craft. Le Blanc made the cut. His showcase work foregrounded the same qualities that mark his music video work, a feel for actor, a willingness to slow the cut, a trust in image over event.

Neverenders, A24

Neverenders is Le Blanc's feature debut, in development with A24. The cast, as currently attached, includes Timothee Chalamet and Marion Cotillard. The film is, at the time of this profile, in pre production stages, with creative materials circulating to the company. A24 has built a feature slate that rewards directors who arrive with a singular voice. Le Blanc fits the profile.
