There is no best bank.
There is complete coverage.

Start with the jobs your money must do. Then decide whether to keep your account, add one specialist, or compare replacements—without trusting a stale rate or promotional ranking.

Decision tool

Map the job before the product

Every answer stays on this device. Bremo records only anonymous stage names—not your selections.

Private browser-only worksheet
This is the job—not a provider preference.
A second provider can add statements, credentials, tax slips, protection tracking and estate or power-of-attorney steps.
This is your lookup acknowledgment, not a Bremo protection verdict.

A plan, review-page open or provider handoff is not an account, approval, paid conversion, revenue or profit. Only authenticated provider evidence can prove those outcomes.

Before any shortlist

The questions rankings hide

Rates, promotions and fee waivers can change. Durable fit starts with access, total cost and the legal structure holding your money.

Access

What cannot fail?

List payroll, bills, Interac transfers, cash, cheques, drafts, joint access and the ATM locations you actually use.

Cost

What survives year one?

Check monthly fees, waiver balances, transaction limits, outside-network ATM costs, overdraft and foreign exchange.

Protection

Who holds the deposit?

Confirm the institution, product, account ownership or trust structure and the deposit-insurance category that applies.

Trade-off review

One provider or two?

A companion account can add one missing capability without forcing a risky full switch. Complexity is still a cost.

Keep the primary account

Best when essential payroll, bill payments and access already work. Fix a narrow gap with a companion only if its ongoing value exceeds the extra transfers, statements and credentials.

Add one specialist

Useful when daily banking works but savings, budgeting or another narrow job is weak. Keep emergency access and transfer timing in the plan.

Replace the primary account

Move only after testing the new account. Redirect payroll and benefits, migrate bills, preserve enough overlap for pending items, then close the old account after every expected transaction clears.

Primary sources, not a promotional leaderboard

The worksheet contains no fixed rate, fee or bonus table. Verify current terms with the institution and use these official sources for comparison and safeguards.
