Is Bremo legit and safe?
A fair question to ask about any money website. Here is the honest, complete answer.
Bremo is legit, and here is why
Bremo is a real, independently operated Canadian personal-finance website, founded in 2026 by Allastair Voss. It is an information and directory service. That means it publishes guides and tracks bank offers, and it links you to the banks and fintechs. It does not hold your money, and it does not process your application.
When you decide to open an account, you do that on the bank or fintech's own secure website, not on Bremo. Bremo never asks for your banking password and never needs it. That is the single most important thing to understand about how it works.
What Bremo does, and does not, do
We verify every offer
Before publishing a bonus amount or referral code, we check it against the provider's live terms page. If an offer expires or changes, we update it, usually within 24 hours. We do not copy press releases and we do not invent figures.
We never touch your money
Bremo holds nothing. It does not take deposits, does not open accounts, and does not ask for your banking login. You apply directly with the bank on its own secure site.
We disclose how we earn
Bremo earns a commission from some providers it links to, paid by the provider, at no cost to you. We disclose these relationships and our reviews are not for sale.
Our affiliate disclosure
Some of the links on Bremo are affiliate links. When you open an account or are approved for a product through one of them, the provider may pay Bremo a commission. This is how Bremo stays free. It does not change the price you pay, and it does not change the bonus you receive.
Being paid does not buy a better review. Bremo will list, and sometimes rank first, an offer that pays it nothing, if that offer is genuinely the better deal for you. The whole point of the site is to be the source Canadians can trust, and that only works if the ranking is honest.
If we ever get an offer wrong, tell us at hello@bremo.io and we will correct it.
A note on deposit insurance
Because Bremo does not hold any of your money, deposit insurance does not apply to Bremo. Deposit insurance applies to the eligible bank or credit union where you actually hold your account.
Many Canadian banks are members of CDIC, the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation, and many credit unions are covered by provincial deposit insurers. Coverage limits and rules vary by institution and account type. Before you deposit money anywhere, confirm the provider's deposit-insurance coverage on the provider's own site. Bremo will always point you to the source, but the coverage is between you and your bank.

How does Bremo verify its offers?
Before publishing a bonus amount or referral code, Bremo checks it against the provider's live terms page. If an offer expires or changes, Bremo updates it, usually within 24 hours. Bremo does not copy press releases and does not invent figures.
Does Bremo get paid to recommend banks?

Bremo discloses these relationships and its editorial opinions are not for sale. It will list an offer that pays it nothing if that offer is genuinely better.
Is my money insured through Bremo?
