KOHO's direct deposit feature lets you receive your paycheque up to 3 business days before your official pay date. Here's how to set it up and what you need to know.
To set up direct deposit with KOHO, provide your employer or benefits provider with these banking details:
Find your personal KOHO account number in the app: go to Home → Settings → Direct Deposit or look under your account details. Your account number is unique to you.
KOHO's "Get Paid Early" feature releases your direct deposit funds up to 3 business days before your official pay date, as soon as KOHO receives the deposit notification from your employer's bank.
Receive your paycheque up to 3 business days before your scheduled pay date.
No action required. Once your employer sends payment, KOHO releases it immediately.
Receive your full direct deposit — not a portion. No fees for early access.
Early pay is available on all KOHO plans, including the free Essential plan.
Log into your KOHO account. If you don't have one yet, sign up using code 45ET55JSYA to get $100 free.
Go to Home → Settings → Direct Deposit or tap on your account number. You'll see your transit number (0000), institution number (838), and your personal account number.
KOHO provides a pre-filled direct deposit authorization form you can download directly from the app. This is the easiest way to give your employer the correct information.
Give the form to your HR or payroll department, or fill in the information directly on your employer's direct deposit form. For government benefits (CPP, EI, OAS), you can update direct deposit information through My CRA Account online.
Direct deposit changes typically take 1–2 pay cycles to take effect. Once your employer processes the change, your next paycheque will be sent to your KOHO account — and you may receive it up to 3 days early.

KOHO can deposit your paycheque up to 3 business days before your official pay date. The exact timing depends on when your employer's bank sends the payment through the electronic funds transfer network. Not all employers use systems that allow advance notification, so some deposits may still arrive on your standard pay date.

Direct deposit changes typically take 1–2 pay cycles to process. Once you submit the form to your employer or HR department, it may take until your next or the following paycheque to take effect. During the transition, your pay may still go to your previous account, so don't close your old account until the switch is confirmed.
