Methodology

How Bremo verifies every offer.

Every Canadian bonus, rate, and referral on Bremo is re-verified against the issuer's own source every week. No paid rankings. No stale offers. Here is exactly how it works.

Why methodology matters

Most comparison sites in Canada have one of two problems. Either the offers are stale because nobody re-checks them. Or the rankings are driven by whichever partner pays the site the most. Bremo has neither. This page explains the workflow behind every listing so readers, journalists, and issuers can hold Bremo to it.

The five-step workflow

Step 1

Identify

Offers are surfaced by monitoring bank rate pages, cardholder emails, referral program dashboards, provincial credit union announcements, and tips from Bremo readers. Every candidate offer gets a source URL logged before it enters the pipeline.

Step 2

Verify at the source

Every offer is re-checked against the official issuer page every week. If Bremo cannot confirm the terms from a first-party bank or fintech source, the offer does not run. Screenshots and archive links are kept for the record.

Step 3

Confirm eligibility

Province-by-province eligibility, funding minimums, deposit requirements, existing-customer exclusions, and time windows are confirmed before publishing. A reader in New Brunswick and a reader in British Columbia see the same offer only if it is genuinely available to both.

Step 4

Rank by offer value

Bremo ranks by what the offer is worth to the reader. Not by what the payout is to Bremo. When Bremo does earn affiliate revenue, that relationship is disclosed in plain language on the offer page. Rankings never move in exchange for higher payouts.

Step 5

Update within 24 hours

Material changes to any listed offer are pushed within 24 hours of the issuer updating their source page. Corrections are dated. Removed offers stay archived with a note explaining why. Every material edit is logged publicly.

How Bremo gets paid. Bremo earns affiliate revenue on some links, referral bonuses on others, and nothing at all on the rest. Payment never influences ranking. If a bank pays more per signup than a competitor, that does not move it up the list. Ever.

Disputes and corrections

If any issuer or reader thinks a listing is inaccurate, email corrections@bremo.io. Bremo commits to reviewing within one business day and correcting within 24 hours if the report checks out. Every correction is dated and stays visible in the offer's history.

What Bremo will not do

Who runs Bremo

Bremo is built in Guelph, Ontario by Amos LeBlanc and a small team. Editorial decisions are the founder's alone. No bank, fintech, or issuer has input into what runs on Bremo or where it ranks.
