TD Minimum Chequing Account — $3.95/month

TD's entry-level account is best for people who do fewer than 12 transactions per month. Twelve debits are included; additional transactions cost $1.25 each. Interac e-transfers cost $1.50 to send. There is no balance-based fee waiver — you pay $3.95 regardless of your balance. For very light users, this can be cost-effective, but KOHO at $0 is almost always cheaper.

TD Every Day Chequing — $10.95/month

TD's mid-entry account includes 25 transactions per month and e-transfers at $1.50 each. The $10.95 monthly fee is waived if you maintain a minimum daily balance of $3,000. This is TD's most commonly recommended starter plan. If you frequently send e-transfers, the $1.50 fee adds up quickly compared to unlimited plans.

TD Unlimited Chequing — $16.95/month

TD's most popular account for everyday Canadians. Unlimited debit transactions and free Interac e-transfers make it genuinely unlimited for typical use. The $16.95 fee is waived with a $4,000 minimum daily balance.

TD Unlimited is the sweet spot for most TD customers. If you maintain $4,000+ in your chequing account, the effective monthly fee is $0.

TD All-Inclusive Banking Plan — $30.95/month

TD's premium chequing package bundles a wide range of features:

The All-Inclusive plan makes financial sense if you're currently paying for a TD credit card annual fee AND need overdraft protection. The credit card rebate alone can offset the entire monthly fee.

TD Student Chequing Account — $0/month

TD waives all monthly fees for post-secondary students under 23. You get unlimited transactions and free e-transfers — the same as the Unlimited plan, at no cost. Requirements: proof of enrollment at an eligible post-secondary institution. The fee waiver continues until you turn 23 or graduate, after which TD converts the account and fees begin.

TD's student account is genuinely excellent — it's unlimited banking at zero cost. If you're eligible, take advantage of it before considering paid alternatives.

TD Senior Discount

TD clients aged 60+ receive a $4.00 monthly discount on any personal chequing account. This applies automatically once your birth date on file triggers the discount.
