How the estimate works

Each month, the calculator adds one month of interest to the remaining balance and then subtracts your fixed payment. It assumes the interest rate and payment stay unchanged and that you make no new purchases.

This is an educational estimate, not financial advice or a lender statement. Actual card calculations, compounding, fees, promotional rates and payment allocation rules can differ. Check your agreement or statement before making a decision.

Why a small payment increase can matter

Credit-card interest is charged against the balance that remains. A larger payment reduces principal sooner, leaving a smaller balance on which future interest can accrue. Always preserve enough cash for essentials and required minimum payments on every account.
