The Ontario Trillium Benefit (OTB) is a monthly provincial payment that combines three tax credits into a single monthly cheque or direct deposit:
For renters and homeowners who pay energy costs and property tax
For residents of Northern Ontario
For Ontario residents based on adjusted family net income

Annual payment option: If your annual OTB entitlement is $360 or less, it's paid as a lump sum in July. You can also choose to receive the full annual amount in a July lump sum (instead of monthly) through CRA My Account.

You do not need to submit a separate application. You claim the OTB by completing the appropriate schedule when you file your annual Ontario income tax return:
If you missed claiming the OTB on a previous year's return, you can file an adjustment (T1-ADJ) through CRA My Account to claim past amounts. You have 10 years to claim retroactively.
