Common questions

Is the Notary appointment active in Ontario?

Yes. Voss Advisory Group operates the Notary Public service through a duly appointed Notary Public in and for the Province of Ontario under the Notaries Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. N.6.

Do you do video notarization?

Yes, where the receiving institution accepts virtual commissioning under O. Reg. 431/20 and the document permits it. Some institutions (foreign embassies, certain US filings) still require in person notarization.

What ID do I need?

Two pieces of government ID, one with photo. Drivers license + health card is standard. Passport + secondary ID also works.

Can a Notary give legal advice?

No. The Notary commission allows administration of oaths, certification of copies, and signature witnessing. Legal advice on the substance of a document is outside the scope. Where you need legal interpretation, we will refer you.

Same day appointments, really?

Yes. Submit the form before 4 pm any business day, and we will confirm a slot within 2 hours, often within 90 minutes if rush fee applies.
